About These Terms

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of myHomeEdPlan, operated by Sarah Withers ("we", "us", "our"). By subscribing to or using myHomeEdPlan, you agree to these terms.

Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

The Service

myHomeEdPlan provides personalised home education curriculum plans for home-educating and homeschooling families. The service includes:

  • A monthly personalised learning plan for your home-educated child
  • Subject-specific activities generated based on your child's age, interests, learning style, and profile
  • Adaptive activity generation as activities are completed and rated
  • A Skills Tracker, Kids Zone, Game Zone, mini-challenges, Evidence portfolio, and Work area
  • On-demand LA-ready / state-ready progress reports to support your reviews and assessments
myHomeEdPlan is a curriculum support tool. It does not replace your legal responsibility as a home-educating or homeschooling parent to ensure your child receives a suitable full-time education. You remain solely responsible for your child's education.

Subscription and Payment

Subscription

Access to myHomeEdPlan requires a paid monthly subscription, processed through Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically each month unless cancelled.

Pricing

Current pricing is displayed on our website at myhomeedplan.com. We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

Free Trial or Discount

Where a free trial or discount is offered, it will be clearly described on the relevant page. At the end of the trial period, your subscription will convert to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends.

Your Right to Cancel and Refunds

Under the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you normally have the right to cancel a digital service within 14 days of purchase for a full refund, without giving a reason. Because your personalised plan begins generating and becomes accessible to you immediately upon subscribing, at checkout you will be asked to tick a box confirming you accept these Terms before completing your purchase. By doing so, you expressly confirm that you want access to begin straight away, and that you understand this means you give up your 14-day right to cancel for a refund once your plan has started generating. If you subscribe but have genuinely not accessed any part of your plan, you may request a cancellation and full refund within 14 days of purchase by emailing hello@myhomeedplan.com. If you experience a technical fault that prevents you accessing your plan, please contact us at hello@myhomeedplan.com and we will work to resolve it or offer a credit. Cancelling Your Ongoing Subscription You may cancel your subscription at any time via your account settings or by emailing us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access until then. We do not provide partial refunds for unused time within a billing period that has already begun, except as described above or where required by law.

Your Responsibilities

By using myHomeEdPlan, you confirm that:

  • You are the parent or legal guardian of the child for whom you are creating a plan
  • You are legally registered as a home educator (or are in the process of doing so) in accordance with your local authority's or states requirements
  • The information you provide about your child is accurate to the best of your knowledge
  • You will use the service only for lawful education purposes
  • You will not share your account login or plan access with people outside your immediate family

AI-Generated Content

Activities, plans, and reports are generated using artificial intelligence (Anthropic's Claude). While we have designed the system with significant guardrails to produce age-appropriate, curriculum-aligned content, AI-generated content is not infallible.

You should always review activities before presenting them to your child. You are responsible for assessing whether an activity is appropriate, safe, and suitable for your specific child's needs at that time.

We make no guarantee that every generated activity will perfectly match your child's exact curriculum level or requirements. The system is designed to adapt over time based on your ratings and feedback.

Progress reports are generated as a starting point and drafting aid. You should review any report before submitting it to a local authority or state and edit it to accurately reflect your provision. If you believe any generated content is inappropriate or concerning, please report it to us immediately at hello@myhomeedplan.com; we treat these reports as a priority.

Intellectual Property

The myHomeEdPlan platform, including its design, software, and branding, is owned by Sarah Withers, myHomeEdPlan. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute any part of the platform without her written permission.

The personalised plan content generated for your child is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use within your home education. You may print and use activities for your child's education. You may not sell, distribute, or republish generated content.

Limitation of Liability

myHomeEdPlan is provided in good faith as a support tool for home-educating and homeschooling families. To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any decisions you make about your child's education based on the service
  • We are not liable for any outcome of interactions between your child and any activity suggested by the platform
  • We are not liable for any outcome of a local authority assessment or review, including any decision made following use of a generated report
  • Our total liability to you in any circumstances will not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the event giving rise to the claim

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death, personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Service Availability

We aim to keep myHomeEdPlan available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances outside our control.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service with reasonable notice. In the event of discontinuation, we will provide at least 30 days' notice and a pro-rata refund for any unused subscription period.

Acceptable Use

You must not use myHomeEdPlan to:

  • Generate content for any purpose other than your own child's home education
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract content from the platform
  • Share account access commercially or provide access to others outside your household
  • Submit false or misleading information about your child

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms without refund.

Complaints

If you have a complaint about the service, please contact us first at hello@myhomeedplan.com so we can try to resolve it directly. If we are unable to resolve your complaint, and you are a UK consumer, you may be entitled to refer the matter to an alternative dispute resolution provider; we will provide details of an approved provider on request.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
