Cookie Policy

Last updated: August 2026

1. Introduction

Our website, https://myhomeedplan.com ("the website"), and the myHomeEdPlan learning platform accessed through it, use a small number of cookies and browser storage technologies. This policy explains exactly what we use, why, and how you can control them.

This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

2. What We Actually Use

We do not use advertising or marketing cookies, and we do not track visitors across other websites. The cookies and storage we use fall into two simple categories:

2.1 Strictly Necessary

These are required for the website and platform to work, and are set automatically. They cannot be switched off, as the service will not function without them.

  • __stripe_mid — Set by Stripe during checkout for fraud prevention
  • userConsent — Remembers your cookie consent choice, so we don't ask you again on every visit
  • wpEmojiSettingsSupports — Standard WordPress cookie checking whether your browser can display emoji correctly
  • acf — Set by Advanced Custom Fields, a WordPress plugin used to manage page content

2.2 Your Child's Plan Data (Local Storage)

myHomeEdPlan saves each child's activity progress directly in your own browser, using local storage rather than a server-side account session for this specific data.

  • planData_[child] — Stores your child's plan and activity progress locally on your device
  • hasVisited_planData_[child] — Remembers whether this device has opened this child's plan before
  • dailyMode_planData_[child] — Remembers your daily view preference for this child's plan

This data stays on your device. It is not automatically transmitted to our servers, except when you actively trigger a save (for example, submitting a rating or saved worksheet answer), as described in our Privacy Policy.

3. What We Do Not Use

We do not use:

  • Advertising or ad-retargeting cookies
  • Third-party analytics that track you across other websites
  • Social media tracking pixels
  • Any cookie that builds a profile of you for marketing purposes

If this ever changes, for example if we introduce a genuine analytics tool in future, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent before any such cookie is set, in line with UK PECR requirements.

4. Consent

Strictly necessary cookies (Section 2.1) do not require consent, as the site cannot function without them.

Because we do not currently use any non-essential cookies, there is nothing requiring your active consent at this time. If that changes, you will see a consent option allowing you to accept or decline before any new, non-essential cookie is set.

5. Enabling, Disabling, and Deleting Cookies

You can control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the website or platform from working correctly.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Know why your data is needed and how long it is kept
  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct or delete your personal data
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where applicable
  • Request your data in a portable format
  • Object to how we process your data

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@myhomeedplan.com. We will respond within one month, as required by law. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to complain to the UK's supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk.
